The group just announced they will join Jay-Z and Blondie at the Isle of Wight Festival off England's southern coast. This mega festival will be going down June 11th to 13th.
The Strokes have not been together since their last show in 2006. After Julian Casablancas somewhat dissapointing solo album, it is important they come back and remind us that they are STILL the last standing rock band.
According to bassist Nikolai Fraiture's Twitter account, they are planning on recording some heat in 2010 as well. "While the guys are in LA, I went to scout some studios in NYC with [manager] Ryan [Gentles] today for what looks like Jan recording!!! mood = f***ing excited!"
We are too Nikolai, we are too. Let us celebrate with jamming out to a couple of The Stroke's classic jams.

Every couple of years there is a dude that comes around and makes it really annoying to no be as cool as he is. Tom Ford pulled off one of the greatest fashion reinventions in history with Gucci (and consequently shaped the dominant style of the decade). Now he's gone on to direct the critically acclaimed ' A Single Woman' starring Colin Firth and Julian Moore. Not to mention, he came up with the fish hook billboard ad campaign. Yup, pretty fucking annoying.

Major Lazer, who is one half Switch and one half world famous Diplo, just released their video "Keep It Going Louder". A intensely catchy club jam with a feature from Nina Sky. The video is wild, but after their last video "Pon de Floor" I wouldn't expect anything else.
According to press releases, Major Lazer is Jamaican commando (balls) who lost his arm in a secret zombie war in 1984.
Check out both of these outlandishly innovative videos below.
"Keep It Going Louder" directed by Eric Wareheim.
"Pon de Floor" also directed by Eric Wareheim.
Remember the times around the holidays when you and some of the fam would head out to the court for a friendly game of H.O.R.S.E.? Trick shots from 8 year old Little Scotty, long 3s from the cool stoner cousin Tony Tone and blind-folded finger rolls from Grandman Duck Duck. Shit, a win out there was tough getting. H.O.R.S.E. was no joke out on the suburb streets.
Kobe "The King" Bryant showed his holiday spirit from his high horse last night. This behind the backboard shot was ridiculous and downright insulting to every player on the court, because he did it with such ease. What a winner.

Cowboys vs. Indians. Indians wins. (Casinos for Indians, George W. Bush for Cowboys)
Summer vs. Winter. Summer wins. (Bikinis and tan lines for Summer, sweatshirts and granny panties for Winter)
Deadbeats vs. Yuppies. Draw. (Deadbeats smell like dick, Yuppies blow dick)
Glory vs. Your Monday. Glory wins. (Glory always wins, Glory always wins)

I was camping in the woods during these meteor showers and left my clothes unattended. Next thing I know it, Bigfoot, yep, Bigfoot takes off with some of my belongings.
I yelled at him, "Hey Bigfoot, come the fuck back here with my underpants! Who do you think you are, coming in here and stealing my underpants like that? And every forest animal south of the Mason/Dixon knows what that dick smells like. Peee-u!"
Bigfoot just looked at me and started singing this jam linked below. And let me tell you bloggers, he has the voice of a baby Canary.

Ever wakeup with a champagne headache?
Where's your head at?
Head of the table?
Pop the cork and let it flow?
Heads will roll? Yeah Yeah Yeah, that's it. Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix).

Well, this was not an easy choice, hence the morning turning into afternoon. The weekend was full of jams, but at the end of the day Ghostland Observatory comes out on top with their song "Piano Man".
This song is down to fuck the shit out of your Monday. Are you cool with that?

What more can I say? I am flabbergasted!
Best show Black Morris has ever seen. Thanks partly to NiggaMortis making me "slide and wiggle" to the front of the crowd. They blew my skull off at Coachella in 2008 and inside of Mansion with that muthafucking soundsystem, they are going to blow Roman Jones' beard off.

Feel free to comment and add what you think should be the description of the blackout kings blog (under COMMENTS).
I'm pretty sure the one above is it and will be added on thanksgiving unless someone can do better

As Black Morris, of the World Famous Black Out Kings, reported a week ago, Hot Chip has a new album coming out in early 2010. Their first single "Take It In" drops the hammer with a contagious melody and smoothed out hook that will make any dog bark a loving woof. This song has been played on my rotation 74 times in 48 hrs, it's the titz.
Enjoy the glory, be easy this weekend and fucking shit, just take it in man.....just take it in.

Radric Davis sentenced 12 months to prison for porbation violation.
Gucci Mane was sentenced to 12 months [6 months with good behavior] in prison on Thursday (November 12) for probation violation and taken away to prison in handcuffs, according to a rep from his label.
The sentence is a blow to Gucci’s career. The ATL rapper has a album coming out — The State Vs. Radrick Davis — on December 8 and is arguably at the height of his career; in terms of his sentence, he may be out of prison in six months. Last September, Gucci went to jail and served until March; he was sentenced to a year in prison for failing to fulfill his court-ordered 600 hours of community service, which had been mandated in 2005.

Damn, these are real tight. Low ankle, very light, that's the style these days (think Kobe 4's). They may not be the coolest looking shoes, but they look like amazing basketball shoes.
These will be worn by none other than Dwayne Wade. 2009's were aight (never ended up getting them), but these I certainly will grab. It's about time somebody recognized his accomplishments, and who better than the G.O.A.T., Jordan.

i'd play this after a really hard rock song. Trick'em into a hiphop transition then kill with some rock for a bit longer.
